What’s the standard of enrollment into British universities?
Enrollment into British Universities depends on A-Level result. From the standard of enrollment in 2007, students are required to submit generally 3 to 4 subjects in A-Level and their previous study result. If students get 3 Ds, they can be enrolled into universities for degree courses. If they can get 3 Bs, they can go into good universities. For instance the University of Manchester, one of the European famous tertiary institutions fond of by Manchester’s fans, requires students to get only 2 Bs plus 1 C only. If students can get 3 As, they get a much larger chance to get into Oxbridge and other famous universities. If students can get straight A, they can compete among elite students for Oxbridge. Few students can study 5 or 6 A-Level courses. When universities choose students, students with many subjects certificates can be in a great advantage. However, it still requires students to get 4 As in A-Level plus outstanding extracurriculum, if they aim for elite universities. If 3 subjects in A-Level are lower than D, students can read courses in National Higher Education Certificate or diploma, which is almost equivalent to the diploma courses in Chinese universities and colleges.
